Change

Make the business run properly.

Operational structure, process, accountability and management information for businesses that have grown faster than their systems.

What does a business operations consultant do?

A business operations consultant makes the day-to-day of a company work without heroics: how work flows through it, who owns what, how resourcing and suppliers are managed, and what information the leadership team sees each month. The test is whether good outcomes stop depending on particular individuals remembering to make them happen.

What we put in place

  • Operational structure and workflow
  • Team structure, roles and accountability
  • Resourcing and capacity planning
  • Supplier strategy and relationships
  • Management information and reporting rhythm
  • Organisational design as the business grows

The founder dependency problem

In most founder-led businesses, the operating model is the founder. Decisions, standards and relationships live in one head, which caps growth and creates real commercial risk.

Moving that into structure is the single change with the widest effect: the business runs better now, the leadership team can lead, and the company becomes worth more to own.

Questions founders ask

How do you make a business less dependent on its founder?

Define roles and decision rights, document the commercial and delivery process, install management information the team can act on, and then genuinely hand decisions over. The hardest part is the handing over, not the documenting.

What management information does a growing business actually need?

Enough to run it, not a dashboard project: pipeline and forecast, revenue and margin by client and project, utilisation or delivery capacity, cash, and a small set of operational measures reviewed on a fixed monthly rhythm.
