Change

Make change happen.

Support through the periods that decide a company's next few years: restructuring, transformation, leadership transition and new operating models. The objective isn't simply a leaner organisation. It's one that works better, for the business and the people inside it.

What does a business transformation consultant do?

A business transformation consultant plans and runs the change a leadership team has decided it needs: restructuring, a new operating model, a leadership transition or an integration after acquisition. The role is sequencing, communication, delivery and accountability while the business keeps trading.

Most leadership teams already know roughly what has to change. What is usually missing is capacity and someone answerable for making it happen. ANDvisory works inside the change rather than reporting on it.

The hard part is implementation

Most leadership teams already have a reasonable view of what needs to change. What is missing is capacity, sequencing and someone accountable for making it happen while the business keeps trading.

We work inside the change: planning it, communicating it, running it and staying until it holds.

Where we work

  • Change management and change programmes
  • Business and operational transformation
  • Organisational restructuring and organisational design
  • New operating models
  • Leadership and founder transition
  • Founder dependency
  • Cost restructuring
  • Integration following acquisition
  • Management structures and role clarity
  • Unmanageable workloads and resourcing
  • Employee churn and retention
  • Inefficient processes and meeting overload
  • Team communication and implementation planning

Not simply leaner. Working better.

Restructuring is often approached as a cost exercise. Sometimes cost is the issue. More often the business is carrying work that shouldn't exist, decisions that take too long, managers who haven't been allowed to manage and people covering for gaps in structure.

The change we run is designed to make the organisation work better: clearer accountability, fewer unnecessary meetings, sensible workloads, processes that remove work rather than add it. That tends to reduce cost and churn anyway. It also produces a business that is better to run and better to work in.

Interim leadership

Where a business needs senior cover rather than advice, we take the role: interim CEO, commercial or operational leadership through transition, recruitment or a temporary gap in the management team.

Questions founders ask

When is interim leadership better than a consultancy project?

When the business needs a decision-maker rather than a recommendation: a gap in the management team, a restructuring that needs to be led, or cover through recruitment, rapid growth or acquisition.

How do you reduce a business's dependency on its founder?

By moving decisions out of one head and into structure: defined roles and accountability, documented commercial process, management information the team can act on, and a leadership layer that is allowed to lead.

This is usually the highest-value change in a founder-led business. It improves how the company runs day to day and it is the same work that makes it saleable later.

Can you fix workload and retention problems without another wellbeing initiative?

Often, yes. Many workplace wellbeing problems cannot be solved with another wellbeing initiative because the underlying problem is how the business is being run: unclear roles, under-resourced work, managers who don't manage, meetings that replace decisions and a founder every question has to go through.

ANDvisory does not provide wellbeing or mental-health services. What we work on is organisational wellbeing: the conditions created by the operating model, and how to change them. That is a management issue, and it has commercial consequences in churn, quality, waste and margin.
